Ready to help us take APhA-ASP to the next level?
APhA-ASP's succes is deeply rooted in its student leadership. From participating in patient care events to becoming a member of a committee, or even running for an Executive Board position, APhA-ASP provides the practical experience and opportunities necessary to become a successful practitioner and pharmacy advocate. We are constantly looking for new student members who want to make a difference in our profession. The only question is, which area do you want to work with?
WHY SHOULD I TAKE ON A LEADERSHIP ROLE?
It is no secret that colleges and employers look for a well rounded student or employee. Grades are important, but often times not enough to stand out among the crowd. APhA is the most well-known pharmacy organization in America, and it is synonymous with leadership and professional excellence. Becoming a leader in APhA-ASP positions yourself to make important contacts and gain valuable experience that both employers and colleges can equate to a well prepared and well rounded applicant. It gives you topics to discuss during interviews, and items to include on your resume or CV. Above all else, however, it gives you a sense of accomplishment and pride that is unparalleled by any grade on an exam.
IF I DO DECIDE TO BECOME MORE INVOLVED, WHERE DO I GO?
Being the largest pharmacy organization in the United States, APhA is able to encompass all aspects of pharmacy. This means you can help out in areas that interest you specifically. Many of our members are interested in politics. Others enjoy the one-on-one contact that we offer at patient counseling competitions. If you would like to know more about how you can help, please email us at APhAUT@gmail.com. We will match you up with a friendly Executive Board member who can use your talents and ideas.
